Been away... update me

Ok. I have been out of the computer spectra for a long time. Probably 2 1/2 to 3 years. I am currently running an Athlon 64 2800 with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro.

I am about ready to put out some money for a new computer... I believe this one will soon be too slow to use. It is perfectly fine for now, but there are games coming out that I won't be able to run and soon, basic stuff will take a long time to do.

So say I am on a budget of $600... maybe more, not sure. Can you guys help me out in finding a processor, video card, and whatever else I might need.

I have 140GB of HD space right now... I think that is enough for now. I have a CD Burner and DVD burner.. so that is good too.

So I will need a motherboard, processor, videocard, and new ram.

Gonna go do some research while I am at it.. hope you guys can help some. If $600 won't get me anywhere, then I will just save up for more money.. but I hope I can atleast get a nice upgrade with that much.

I think you may need to save up some money depending on what kind of rig you are looking for. How fast does it have to be to run your games for instance.

intel core 2 duo e6300 - $181
buffalo firestix 2x1GB (2GB) - $159.99
evga 8800GTS 320MB - $279 before $20 rebate making it $259 (best bang for the buck card - can go lower if you want)
gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 - $122.99

743.97...

potentially, you can drop everything down a notch or two...e6300 goes to an e4300, you could get even cheaper 2x1GB DDR2-800 ram, a lower-end video card, and a different mobo.
