Beef ribs vs. pork ribs?

I find it odd that everyone seems to order pork ribs while beef ribs taste soooo much better to me. I usually get pork because beef is not available most places but I recently went to the Dallas BBQ in NYC - their beef short ribs were amazing and had a hell of a lot more meat than pork ribs. Wonder what the appeal with pork is.

edit: what a massive run on sentence. I need coffee..

Cheap.

I find that beef ribs are smoother, savory, and just have more flavor. and I've had ribs from blue smoke (amazing place) - the sampler which had 5 different types of ribs, and the beef was surely the best in my opinion.

Baby back pork ribs = win. Spare ribs suck. They are cheap because they are about 8% meat and the rest is fat, grisle, and bone. With a good rack of BB's, you are looking at about 90% edible piggy goodness.

Beef is just kinda...blah.

Here pretty pink precious piggy.

Here pig!

Yeah, porks ribs. Beef just doesn't have near the flavor, taste and texture.

Depends on how they are cooked, but usually pork ribs.

I don't eat them often though, and I have had Beef ribs which are excellent!

I like them both. Just like how pork chops, properly done, can be as good as steak, beef ribs can be as good as pork ribs.

This man speaks the truth....

I like putting a light rub on a rack of baby backs, baking in the oven (covered) and then finishing on the grill with a good BBQ sauce. You get the smoky and charred effect from the grill yet the meat falls right off the bone from baking them first. Damn, now I'm craving some BB's.
