I swear, you're all completely inept at this stuff.
SMELL IT.
It does not matter if it is brown or pink, smell it. If it smells bad, you WILL know it, and you WON'T eat it.
If it smells fine, it is safe to eat.
We used to keep our fridge at 33ºF, and I noticed that meat had a nearly indefinate lifespan. Well, not quite.. But both cooked and uncooked meat would be good for many, many days after it was put in there.
In a recent effort to safe electricity, we turned the fridge down a bit.. Now it's 37ºF in there, and meat goes bad very noticably faster. Before the change, I had never had a package of beef or chicken go bad on me.. Since the change, I've had to throw out some chicken breasts and a pound of beef.
I'm almost contemplating turning it back down. The electricity we've saved has already been eaten up by throwing food away....

This completely depends on the temperature in your refrigerator.Originally posted by: Cattlegod
you can go about a week and a half and still be fine. it starts to spoil after about 2 weeks.
