I tried salmon jerky from Whole Food -- it was horrible.

Teriyaki beef jerky is good. I used it to train my mom's dog, she LOVES that stuff.

Another vote for Wild Bill's.

Seems that people usually have a preference between either the bone dry stuff or the moist stuff. Most of the store bought brands that I'd tried randomly over the years tend to be fairly moist, Wild Bill's is the only one I've found in the northeast that wasn't.

I haven't made my own in a year or two now since my dehydrator asploded, but homemade/stuff you'd grab at a few "country" stores while traveling seems to be more my kind of thing. I did have duck jerky a few times from a family friend who's a huge hunter - was amazing, minus the random pellets/buckshot or whatever it is that he missed lol.....

There's a really good beef jerky place in chinatown, NYC. Unfortunately I've been too busy/lazy to visit this year. Most I've bought from them was 6 pounds. It's about $17/lb that last time I checked.

We need to find out who that guy is that's never had beef jerky and hook him up.
