There's this store near me that's simply called "Beef Jerky" and they have barrels of beef jerky that you just pick and choose whatever you want and bag it, then they charge you based on the weight. I swear I think I'm addicted to this stuff. This is real jerky also, not some garbage like Slim Jim.

My wife and I were talking about it and she said she doesn't know a single female that likes beef jerky, made me wonder if that's usually true or not but it seems most guys I know do like it.

So I decided to make a poll and see.

Update: I went back there last night and grabbed a 1/2 pound of some Smoky Mountain original beef and a 20oz bag of the original Smoky Mountain Buffalo jerky.

I tried a good amount of the choices there and I preferred the Smoky Mountain brand over their others.

The Buffalo jerky is awesome though, this is my first time having it.

Also the stores actual name is The Beef Jerky Outlet, even though it only says "beef jerky" on the building.

If anyone in the area is interested, their address is.

Store bought jerky like Oh Boy Oberto sucks, but I had a friend in school with a dehydrator that would season his own jerky, and it was some of the best shit I've ever had.

No option for "I am a male and would make sweet love to beef jerky and marry it if it were legal and societally acceptable"

My wife likes beef jerky, too.

This is cured, or smoked or dehydrated jerky made by farmers from around the south east mostly.

Awesome stuff.

No chain brands or anything like that.

I also got some venison jerky and some turkey jerky.

I like beef jerky, but it's too expensive to buy them. I do have a dehydrator of my own, but I've yet to make decent jerky. I've come close though.

Perhaps I'll try again soon.

Southeast you say? Where exactly, since I'd happily go shop there for some decent jerky :)

This store is right next to Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World outside of Discovery Mills mall in Gwinnett county Georgia.

I used to post that link and have to apologize because they didn't have any web ordering, but now it looks like they've made it into the 1990's. :)

The prices aren't to bad there.

It's about $25 per pound at the store I went to.

Wow they have a bunch of exotic meats also.

I think I might have to order some from there.

I love beef jerky. I would write a song about my love for beef jerky, but I lack the creativity to do so. :(

This thread is making me so hungry! I love beef jerky... too bad I'm no where near Gwinett County Georgia.

My fiancee likes beef jerky as well.

Wild Bill's - the best jerky I've ever found, and also the only kind I like. Any time I've had home-made stuff, it's more like flavorless beef chips, not tough & chewy smoked jerky.

....and it's probably not good that I've found that site now.

I usually only ever get it as a gift - my grandmother knows I like it, and her sister owns a small store, so she can get it cheap.
It's a bit pricey for me to buy it myself though; to me, food just isn't worth that kind of expense.
