Anyone have any input on the two brands? Got a bed for xmas and its a Therapedic. Tried it out today and it seems pretty nice, but so did the Sealy right next to it that was a 100 more.

What about the fabric that a bed is finished in? The last bed I bought the guy told me that the fabric does matter because some fabrics will wick moisture better than others...

Any input?

He was bullsh!tting you man ...

Unless you're looking at like, discount (IE < $350 queen) ... the fabric shouldn't matter.

Is one pillow top? What is thereapedic? A rebadged something else?

When I was looking for beds (few years ago now) ... they said that the tighter the pattern (IE smaller squares) usually (NOT ALWAYS) meant a more firm mattress.

Look at the sample frames at the store ... you can see how they're set up quality-wise ... but realistically, if you're talking about $100 ... probably not too much difference ...

I've got a Ther-a-pedic (Back Sense series, manchester model) - seems great to me but I don't think there's anything particularly special about them, other than the borders seeming more durable than the other beds we tried.

Edit: They aren't rebadged afaik, they are just a smaller manufacturer so they don't have the name recognition of Sealy/Simmons.

After years of wetting the bed, I'm never going to put big bucks into a mattres (i left off the last "s" for savings) ever again.

Wicking moisture? Do you sleep on the mattress with nothing between you and the mattress?
