Bedroom Upgrade

I've currently got a 36" tube tv in the bedroom and have decided to ditch it or give it to my siblings rather and upgrade my viewing experience.

Max viewing distance for the set would be 8'. I'll be hooking up a PS3, DVR and eventually a Hauppage recorder to it. Most of the time it will be used for gaming but occasionally movies or anything else you'd use a TV for.

I've currently got my eyes on a Sony Bravi KDL-32EX208 LCD HDTV. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889252095

I like that it integrates with the PS3 using the DLNA technology.

Good buy or is there something better?

Link? I don't see that model anywhere.

You don't need a TV that does any networking at all if you have a PS3. Get a bigger set instead.

Do you have a size limit? What's your budget? Like s44 said, don't waste your money on networking on the TV when your PS3 will do all the networking you need already. If you're trying to stay around $500, then something like the Panasonic TC-P42C2 42-Inch 720p Plasma would serve you much better.

You can compare tv sizes at http://tvcalculator.com/. You'll see that a 32" 16:9 TV looks tiny next to a 36" 4:3 TV. Even widescreen images are larger on the 36" TV. A 42" is almost the same height as a 36", but you have to step up to a 46" TV to actually exceed the height of your 36" 4:3 TV.

In other words, if you're really trying to "upgrade (your) viewing experience," then getting a smaller TV is not the way to go. At 8' from a tiny TV, you won't be able to resolve HD anyways:

A 42" 720p TV should be perfect at your viewing distance. If you go larger than that, then you'll likely see the benefits of 1080p and will want to step up in resolution. However, don't choose a 32" 1080p TV over a 42" 720p TV since you won't be able to resolve the difference between 720p and 1080p at your viewing distance with anything smaller than a 46" TV (and even at that size, you might not be able to perceive any difference). I sit 9' from my 50" 720p TV, and it looks great.
