Bed vs Clock Radio

Finally, the deciding battle has been fought between my bed and my clock radio.

I sat on the foot of my bed the other day, or maybe I leaned on it, I don't remember. But the top mattress was slid toward the foot, and this caused the bed to tip over. When the other end went back down, a caster was implanted firmly in the rear of my clock radio, which I keep on the floor since there's no room for my nightstand. It broke the plastic grille and apparently pushed the speaker into other hardware, causing the clock radio to not work at all. Now I will never have to suffer from the clock radio's tyranny ever again! I never could stand that horrible alarm that it plays. BEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEP every morning. NO MORE!

I would take pics but my camera's batteries are dead. I have a 5.9v adapter from my PDA that happens to fit the camera, but the DC input says 5v. The camera uses 4 AAs, which would vary from 4.8v (rechargable) to 6v (alkaline). Is it safe to use the 5.9v adapter? Is there any difference between the power from the AC adapter and from the batteries?
