Fort Sherman? Davis?
AHHHH! 🙂 I finally met someone who has been to Panama 🙂 Ft. Sherman was the best - there was nothing like renting out one of the beach houses right on the water. Just prior to it's closure, the base just seems so antique, I love it. I just felt some since of nestalgia (sp?) when I would go jogging around the old buildings 🙂 I also liked Howard, it looked really nice from atop of Radar Hill. 🙂 Where did you live in Panama?
I was there for just three months. Before the conflict in 89. I was at Sherman most of the time but also spent some time in Coca Solo (spelling?) and at Davis. We did fly into Howard but didnt spend any time there. We spent alot of time on the post beach or diving on the coral reefs at Sherman. It is Beautiful there. We did not get to spend much freetime in the community because things were getting a little hot.

I live down there during that time too. My family was stationed there right after all that crap happened, then we moved, and then came back. The coral reef on Sherman is absolutly stunning. what I really love about it is that you can actually walk on a large part of it and observe all kinds of sea life.

I really wish that we didn't have to turn the bases over. Being down there was the best part of my childhood, and probably one of the best parts of my life. I'm planning on going back later this year to see how much everything has changed. It sucks knowing that the areas where I grew up will no longer be like I remember them 🙁

Wine and music. Two things that are inherently simple (wine is just fermented grape juice, music is just patterns of sound waves) yet both offer infinite enjoyment and variety.

Women, my children, sunsets, crystal clear winternights... there are so many things...

You forgot to say "arms getting ripped out of sockets by me."

😉

LOL, this is going to haunt me for a while, isn't it?

Well, so i made a fool out of myself, i can live with it if you can, not the first time, and probably not the last... 🙂

If you are still around here in 3 years, you can expect to, after making a totally non-related post, see someone reply "Or what? You'll rip my arms off?"
