Many have aruged that attarctiveness is relative, and that an ugly person can be seen as pretty by others. Well, I think that is wrong.

I think there is a general norm of the level of attractiveness in society, but then there are exceptions that put beauty in the eye of the beholder. Take my gf for example, I think she's beautiful and theres nothing better when she's around, but then one of my friends can look at her and point out her lackings and label her an average or typical asian girl.

Yes.

Judging attactiveness is probably a trait, a knowledge that is passed on in our genes. I think our carnal desire tells us that we need to try to produce the best offsprings, hence the perference of more attarctive people.
