Are they worth the money? my friend has them and she says they are AMAZING

i listen to rap, dubstep, songs with alot of bass (all in all)

For whatever reason I mentally put them in the same group as skullcandy... made to look cool but sound awful.

I have no reason to think so as I haven't heard them. It's entirely possible they're good.

I would check the forums at anythingbutipod.com as they have a very active headphone forum with lots of reviews.
 
haven't heard the hd's, but the original solo's were pretty crappy.

studios are mediocre and overpriced.
 
that's a Monster product?

they seem to be going for $110 online, so ~$70 for "MONSTER" and $10 for "Dre"?

Beat's are over priced crap. Sennheiser, Grado, Denon, AKG, Beyerdynamic, etc. THOSE are good companies for sound. If you just want massive bass though, go for the Sony MDR-XB500, MDR-XB700, or MDR-XB1000 Headphones

Also the ear pieces on the Sony's feel like your head is between two massive tits. Those ear cushions are HUGE.

Oh wait, no wonder. I say this as an Asian myself, but I have no idea why beats are so popular with asians. All that K-pop and J-Pop doesnt seem suited toward them.

So true, my ex is chinese and she decided to buy the Studio Beats because they were popular. She doesnt even listen to anything except crappy K-pop and J-pop.

/sigh

Oh well.

Be prepared to be disappointed OP, or very happy but living in a dream world because that honestly was a very shitty purchase.

Awful decision. Of course, given that you even considered the beats means that you don't even have a clue what good phones sound like... so you might think they're good anyway.

i'd throw my money to Sennheiser, i'd rather not have the profits go to pointless marketing like that....it should go to r&d/build quality, not some rapper. Every dollar spent on dr dre is one dollar less on the headphones themselves. As far as we know dr dre doesn't have a phd in engineering or anything.

And dont even think about writing a review on them, because you have no experience with good headphones and so have nothing to compare them to, besides shitty skullcandies and apple ear buds.
