Beat the best Madden 08 player that I know yesterday

So my friend is the best player that I know. He is so good that he won his original xbox at one of those bar events. And just for the record I suck pretty bad

Yesterday we went to circuit city and they have the xbox 360 setup along with the other systems. We played an entire game at lunch.

Im not sure quite how it happened but I ended up blowing him out 35 to 7.

Was it the 4th and 19 trick play? the 3 ints that Jay Cutler(Denver) threw? the burn Marvin Harrison put on Champ Bailey?

either way it was a great day for the fish yesterday.

aint football season grand...................

I am actually getting pretty good at running the offense but i suck at running the defense.

can anyone offer some suggestions on becoming good with the defense on Madden?

tricks?

I like to plan man coverage and I usually blitz 1 guy. I drop 1 safety back, usually on the side of the fastest receiver. I "commit" when I know they're running or passing.

One of my most effective plays is the dime man coverage where I blitz with a dimeback and my safety picks up the receiver. It sends pressure fast enough to not let a receiver get past the man coverage.

I also like to play man coverage with 1 QB spy (3-4 defense). I usually use the MLB (Ray lewis) as the spy, and I move him all over the field to manually double team a "go-to" guy.
