fun video to watch.. so much love and hate in comments.. I cant afford to waste a car so I like watching. A bit hard to tell from POV, but it appears you are not to bad.. thanks for sharing.
 
I've passed an R8 on track before with my 4 door GTI. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Chasing and passing is fun, but I consider the bigger thrill to be when you lap someone. lol

I've noticed many times I'll be excluded from the faster run groups based on the assumption that my car is too slow. Just means more passing for me. 😛

it could have been one of the 1st gen R8's w/ the less-then-impressive V8...still, they were no slouches...and while it sounds like driver skill was the biggest difference at play, passing any R8 in a GTI is no small feat.
