Having listened to this CD for about 8 years now, I just noticed some bells in the background of the "Hello Brooklyn" track. I had to take my cans off (Senn HD280 Pro's) to make sure that hte bells wern't coming from somewhere else.

It is VERY subtle and without good headphones, you might not hear it. Not sure if the CD player had anything to do with it. It's a good CD player, but 20 years old. Very tempted to Modd a Toshiba DVD player now.

AMAZING! If you have the CD, try it out!

Ummm, if those guitars can only be heard with better audio equipment, then yes, a parody is worthy.

I guess my origjnal post didn't make the proper point. The bells are VERY subtle and most audio equipment is incapable of reproducing the sound so it becomes inaudible.

I've listened to the CD hundreds of times on other audio gear and it took the Senns I have now to bring it out.

I iwll just say okay, and just leave it at that.

Whatever floats your boat man. Remember when people said they heard devil music if you played Zeppelin backwards?

, I got some nice phones about six months ago (280s as well, actually) and I'm constantly noticing nuances in music that have previously escaped me, also on CDs & tracks I've heard many hundreds of times before. From everything I hear, you're looking at spending four digits on speakers capable of the same detail.

hmmm...I wonder why I don't have this. It's on Paul's Boutique, no?

Nevermind. Found it.

I can barely make them out on my JBL 4412's, but they are there. I could probably hear them better with headphones.

That's what good audio will do.

You'll hear entire instruments you never even knew were there. You'll hear 5 separate background singers instead of one. You'll hear 50 violins instead of one.

First time my plugged in my HD280s into my Behringer Powerplay HA4700, I was blown away by the level of detail. Neither are high-end by any means, but just having decent cans and a headphone amp makes a world of difference over a Walkman or MP3 player.
