That website is coded by a little bitch! And yet another website to avoid if you use an AD blocker.

Gotenna already beat them. http://www.gotenna.com/

Your better off buying some old Nextel i355's or variants and using the Direct Talk feature. This DOES NOT use cell towers. The cell phone acts like a two-way radio. Nothing more, nothing less. Nextel had Direct Connect which DID use cell towers. But you can't get cell service for these cell phone anymore. But the two-way radio feature using Direct Talk works outstanding. I went about a half mile in town and got perfect reception. They pump out about 750 mW, use the 900 MHz band, use FHSS and a VSELP vocoder. You can also enter a ten digit code (made up phone number) as well and only the Feds could hear you. I wrote about these cellphones on my forum in the Survivalism subforom at the bottom of the index. There you can read about how to have the phone go to Direct Talk on power up. You can press End when the phone tries to search for service. It won't find it.

If anyone is familiar with the /\/\otorola DTR radios, these celphones operate the same way at a huge fraction of the cost. Look up DTR radio on ebay and you will see. Then compare it to the i355.
