Harris ?didn?t know the limited number of tickets he was going to get,?? Elias said of Harris.

Each player can get up to 15 tickets. Harris is giving all of his to family members.

But Harris still wants to do something for Lange, according to Elias. So he?s giving him a Bears jersey autographed by Harris and other Bears.

Sounds like the player is trying to be reasonable.

He was promised the ticket on tape. He didn't ask for it, he even said he'd sell his Bike, etcetcetcetcetc.

I think it sucks, but at least he's getting an autographed jersey out of it.. still, something more woulda been nice considering what he was 'promised'... Just goes to show, don't make promises on your way up, you might need to keep them and you might not be able too...

If I was harris I would probably just spend the $3K or $4K and buy a ticket from eBay and give it to the guy. Probably a drop in the bucket for someone like Harris.

The thing I think is stupid is that the agent tried to spin it as if its just because he's only allowed 15 free tickets. Its not like the player couldn't buy him a ticket. At least the guy did get a ticket and even something else to boot.

what a dick (the player) he makes a promise then does not keep it? fvck a jersey? sheesh what a rip off.

be a man and live up to the promise. if he has to pay for a ticket out of his pocket do it. and they wonder why nobody respects him..

You follow the Bears. We both know Harris won't be a starter next year. He needs to save his money for his career after football.

Are you going to ask her why her brother is a cheapskate and a liar?
If you do, please take video.

Original story

Updated story when somone else decided to buy the ticket.

I can understand the man being disappointed, but protesting with a sign outside of the Bears facilities? It's not like he gave anything to the Bears player in exchange.

I can also understand the business's motivation to give him the ticket. The free publicity is more than worth the cost of the ticket.

All is well that ends well...

heh i bet in the future he won't try to look and act all cool in interviews. next time (if he ever makes it again) he won't go making a promise on TV that he can't keep.

though maybe not. someone else is filling his promise. though i am sure he is getting it from the Bears organization.

What it amounts to is him and his agent getting a lot of free publicity.

Harris is on the low end of the stick as far as NFL salaries go and he made some big plays last weekend. If T.O. had done something like this I might agree with you. :p

He's also on the low end as far as talent goes, so at least he's getting paid fairly. I'm sorry to harp on it, but I have visions of Harris being supposed to play over the top of Marvin Harrison and getting burned repeatedly next weekend. He got demoted in favor of a rookie and only plays because a different starter got injured. To me, he's the Bears weakest link on D.

I totally agree with the buying it on Ebay thing. To me, if I promise something I am going to uphold that promise if it is at all possible, even if it puts me at some inconvence (sp?).

Just the way I was brought up I suppose.
