He "saved" him but I didn't get the sense that there was any concern involved. I think he didn't want that flappy bird thing mucking up his water.

the water is pretty nasty, so i doubt he cared about the mess.

the crow probably got stuck between the rock and the rim while going for the leftover meat/carcass on the rock. the fact that the bear immediately went back to eating the carrots and fruit in such a blase manner is the odd part. even the crow looked like it was expecting to be ripped apart as a plaything.

bear wanted to see if it was good eating. fished it out but got pecked in the nose; lost interest.

The crow, after pecking the bear's nose, almost gave the bear incentive to rip it apart. Really inspiring video.
