Bear Mountain is hot.

Seriously, it's hot. The view is nothing like in MA. Then again, there's no freaking air 6200 feet up. The lack of air also makes it very easy to get sunburned. I'm here counseling at a camp, thanks to my mad 1337 robot skills.

You're right down the street from me then.

6200 feet isn't very high. Lake Tahoe is at about that elevation, and it's in the bottom of the valley between the mountains. Also, Lake Tahoe is currently 66 degrees.

Tahoe > Bear Mountain

Nope, google sat maps is about as close as I got. Now Geronimo peak at Bear Mountain is the highest peak in So Cal, get the campers to climb that, muwhahahah! It is a nice day today though, blue skies and mid 80's, no complaining there.

Either you're horribly out of shape or have emphysema, because 6200ft is not very high at all. I can't understand people compaining about this. Above 12K symptoms may be legit, but at 6K it's all psychological.

Why do people always say this? Of course it is, there is no comparision between the two, nor should a comparison be made between the two. The only reason the Big Bear area is popular is its proximity to LA/SD. You gotta remember it's like 8+hrs to Tahoe from there - not reasonable for a weekend trip.

1. I have lived in a valley all my life.
2. I'm not in a hospital bed, dude. It's breathing a bit deeper when running or climbing uphill.
