Bear Fire Resorts

"Bearfire Resort, America's first year-round outdoor ski and snowboard park is scheduled to open in the fall of 2009. The project is located within close proximity to the Dallas and Fort Worth area within easy access to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, between the Alliance Airport and Texas Motor Speedway."

"Nestled within the picturesque Bearfire Mountain and resting in the shadow of a 200 foot sheer glacier wall..."

WTF? How will they do that?! It is usually 100+ in the summer here, and they plan to make a 200ft sheer glacier wall? I am intrigued!

Bearfire?s year-round winter theme will be made possible due to a virtual ski surface technology called Snowflex created by Brian Thomas of Briton Engineering in the U.K. and currently used successfully at more than 30 locations in Europe. When complete, Bearfire Resort will be six times larger than any existing Snowflex facility in the world.

Ehh.. it's never going to be that good. All the people who are from SoCal and go skiing in wherever they go like Big Bear are always like HOLY SH!T after going to the crappiest ski resorts in Tahoe. It's literally because they've never seen that much snow before.

Agreed. I've been skiing in Colorado several times. After looking at this, it's just lame, nothing like a real ski resort :(

Looks cool. Considering I live in that area it'll be cool to be able to go "skiing" somewhere close. :)
