Beaches in Virginia

Gotta drive from western NY to VA to pick up 3 new kids (baby goats) this weekend... thought I'd stay near the beach and spend 2 or 3 hours at the beach before turning around and driving home.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

It's a good family atmosphere and should be reasonably deserted this time of year.

aye...it's nice...not myrtle beach nice but it is very nice....

also, not that many jerks around like on Jones Beach😉

Just stay at VA beach. It's about 20 minutes from Norfolk, and it's not bad. Should be on decent weather this weekend.. low to mid 70s.

Okay, sounds like it'll be VA beach. The people we're getting the goats from said that they wouldn't recommend VA beach - they always go to NC to go to the beach because the beaches are nicer. (I remember VA beach being like an giant ashtray the last time I went there in the late 80's... hopefully it's cleaner than it used to be)

Shouldn't be very dirty this time of the year. It was pretty clean this time last year.

Or you could go to the Outer Banks, if you feel like driving a lot more.
