Beaches in NJ or NYS, near NYC, any recommendations?

Since it's so hot these days, I want to visit some beaches near NYC. I have been to Sandy Hook which is very nice and it's not crowded at all. Two hours drive is ok, not 4 hours. Please recommend some nice places based on your experience. Thanks a lot.
