Beach Life runs terribly

I bought beach life a few months ago and ran it on my computer it ran perfectly, i then had to F disk my computer due to a virus, i did a clean install of XP Pro and have reinstalled all the most update drivers and direct x now it runs very jerkely unable to play it....my syustem hasnt changed what wrong? Any ideas?

XP Athlon 1600+
ECS Mainboard
NVIDIA TNT2 32mb on board ram
5.1 SB Live!
All up to date drivers

an xp1600 with a tnt2 card? Uhm...yeah ok...

Anyway, my guess would be that you forgot to enable dma on the hard drive and/or cdrom drive.
