Guys,

I'll soon be doing a system upgrade, and originally I'd decided on the IT7-Max2 v.2, but found that the BE7-RAID actually has the features I need. I've read some posts on the Abit forum and Anandtech forum re cold boot issues w/ the BE7 boards.

Are they fixed in a current BIOS? Are the cold boot issues originally present in the IT7 boards fixed in the IT7-Max2 boards? If there are still issues w/ the BE7-RAID and they're fixed in the IT7-Max2 board I'll get the Max2 in a heartbeat. However, if the issue's been resolved in the BE7-RAID that's my preference.

TIA,

Jeff

The cold boot issue with the BE7 boards is overrated, IMHO. LardOCP reviewed the BE7-Raid, made a mention of the cold boot as a minor issue, and still gave it their "Top Pick" rating. All the reviews I've read speak of the BE7 series with enthusiasm.

On my BE7, the very few times (approx. 1 per month) I experienced a cold boot error, I simply hit the reset button and all was well. If you do a search for cold boot, you'll find many different brands, not just the Abit boards.
