Anyone here have opinions good or bad on the Be Quiet Silent Wings Pro 4 fans 120mm and 140mm?

My own comparisons with about a dozen other potential case/cooler fan choices is based on the manufacturers' information in all cases. But it is also backed up by reading reviews and posts in other forums.

They appear to be good all round performers in most respects beating or matching some of the more expensive brands I have been looking at too. They're not that cheap TBH so I'm interested to read what others here think if they've had experience of using them before committing myself to a purchase.

My Dark Base Pro 900 Rev.2 came with Silent Wings 3 fans. they are indeed silent...and push a great amount of air. I replaced them with Arctic Cooling 140mm ARGB fans when I opted to "light up" the case.

My go to fans for both cooler and case purposes have so far been a mix of Akasa Viper 120mm, 140mm and their round 120mm mount 140mm. Out of about a dozen I've used I've only had to replace one 120mm when it started to sound like it had bearing wear and would occasionally not spin up. That was after over 5 years regular use and the other ones, all of a similar age, are now all in their 10th year.

They have a "S-Flow" wavy blade shape that moves a lot of air with above average stats in both SAP and CFM ratings whilst having moderate to low dB figures and costing a third less than some other well known brands. This is particularly true of their 140mm Viper fans which I really like to use as case bottom intake and and top extractor fans.

However Akasa, for whatever barking mad reason, decided only to make the 140mm options in a poison yellow colour. Why?

I did, still do like that and happily used it for an earlier build which turned out to have an unplanned, yellow and black colour scheme. I've also used a round 140mm 120mm mount yellow Viper on a unusual top mounted Scythe cooler I bought for another build.

I might still have used them but I think they're not manufacturing them any more and are proving difficult to find. I also want a change in colour to white or black and white. I have not decided yet. :)

There are Viper black and also white colour options at 120mm but neither at 140mm. The only other Akasa type that uses the 'S-Flow' blade shape are the significantly lower spec, 'budget' Apache 'range' which is available in 140mm black too but again increasingly difficult to source.

So I thought: go for the next best spec/cost ratio which, from my researches, meant the Be Quiet range. They are easily found in both black and white in both sizes - hence this thread.

I've got a pair of Silent Wings 2 140mm fans which were far quieter and had better throughput stats than the 120mm fans they replaced.

BQ tends to be my go-to for quiet fans.
