I already know that the first smart-@ss answer will be; "Of course I do; I love good conversation!" <--You can't use that b/c that's what I tell people when they ask me why I'm talking to myself. :p

Mind you: I'm not talking about talking to yourself to the point of denying that there is a real world w/real people out there. I am referring to speaking to yourself...in normal, everyday situations; such as repairing a PC or car, or possibly even sorting laundry.

I talk to myself everyday...and I'm not a bit embarassed about it, either.

Vote and speak to me! Share w/your fellow ATers.

So I said to myself, "Self,....."

I talk to myself, or my cat.

Cool! I'm feeling better already. I had a coworker...well, more like I freaked out a coworker today. HP LJ IV went down. I went to check it out. Paper jam...but of course none of the idiots I work w/could figure that out.

They said, and I quote:

The printer is broke

Wow. How frickin' descriptive can you get, right?

So, I check it out and immediately see a piece of paper hanging out the duplexing unit in the back. It wedged in there good...all torn up. So, I've got the cover open, picking out pieces of paper from the gears and such...while talking to myself.

Kinda like online troubleshooting without being online, you know? Little did I know that two of the Harpies...er...women I work w/were standing behind me, listening intently to my conversation w/myself.

"Do you always do that?"
"What?"
"Talk to yourself?
"Well....yeah. It helps me think things through."
"You're weird"
"But you think I"m cute, right?" <---I always have to throw something sexual in there..even if they are fugly....it's habit"
"NO. Just fix the printer."
"Grumble-grumble-grumble...there, it's fixed; try not to feed it 12x17 sheets sideways anymore, OK?"

You get the idea.

When you are the only technicially competent person in a company of close to 1000 employees, you have to talk to yourself.

Ain't got no one else to bounce ideas off of, so got to bounce them off myself.

I talk to myself a lot. I also have conversations with people in my head. I don't converse with fake people in my head, I think through possible conversations I may have with people I know. I also scream a lot and yell out strange sentence fragments.

lol, I do it all the time as well. More often when I forget something or screw something up, I hit myself in the head and start cursing.

Even stranger things I've done is in public places where I like forget something and I just remember, I'll say shitz or something like that and actually do a crop crouch to the floor with my hand to my forehead. All the guys next to me are like professionals and whatnot in their suits and sometimes they look at me like I'm a wacko. lol Dunno, such reactions just come natural to me.

I talk to myself from time to time; if I could only make myself actually listen to what I say...

I'm glad I'm not alone, as I do this ALL the time. I'll even go so far as to argue with myself. It's not a conscious thing either...

Of course, I usually don't speak to myself aloud.

I'm Italian, if I didn't talk to myself I'd be considered crazy. :D

Also, I talk with my hands a lot. Makes for an interesting sight when I'm having a conversation with myself. :p

Why not? I think the question should be, is there anyone who does not talk to himself or herself? :Q I once read at another forum, some nice lady said she doesn't talk to herself. And it drove her crazy when her family members did. I couldn't believe it. Of course I wouldn't want to talk out loud to myself, lest I look like or sound like some crazy woman. :p I tend to talk to myself in my mind and then smile, but hardly do I blurt out something. But ultimately, what's abnormal is one not ever talking to oneself. :p

I think its been shown that talking to ourselves was greatly responsible for the development of speech and our level of thinking -- link unknown

Why the God damned $hit can't you tell me the psychiatrist's office is in the next block in less that a four hundred word essay. Get your froggy hand off my knee you perv, and so on.
