What is this "reality" you speak of??

I'll tell you what. You stand in front of my car, say 10 ft. And I'll floor the gas and see what happens to you.
At a guess? Person would flop onto the hood, hit the windshield, and have a broken leg or two.

The mother shouldn't have been standing behind the car.
The mother shouldn't have been teaching her 15 year old to drive when you can't get your permit in NJ until after you turn 16 and you can't get your license until after you're 17.

And, before you get your permit at 16 you need 6 hours of driving school, and 17 is only a cinderella license.

I'm assuming this scenario happened while the car was in reverse, which is rather different. It depends on what kind of car it was.

Yeah that's right, otherwise you can't get your permit until you're 17. Granted this was on private property so she wasn't breaking the law, but I just don't see the point of teaching a 15 year old to parallel park. It's unfortunate that the girl is going to have to live with this for the rest of her life.

The only time you really have to parallel park is during your road test at 17..its a rare occurence nowadays..and if you're a girl the instructor probably won't make you do it anyway. Why bother learning how at that age?

Well if you live in an urban area you may have to parallel park pretty often. ;) In 8 years of driving I think I've done it only a few times.

Police believed the girl may have hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.
