Thanks Patrick, that's great information. I will consider the Asus but I think the ASRock might be my choice. If I can afford it, I will probably get the 570 like I had originally thought but I think I could still live with the 560 Ti if the budget doesn't allow for more.

No problem. I didn't like the idea of an open box board but I took the risk and it seems to have really paid off. My GTX 460 was open box as well. It didn't come with any acccessories but that's nothing. It's been solid for many months. So if you can nab an open box 560 Ti or 570 I'd do it. Though they sell out pretty quick once posted.

Also you asked about memory, there's a few articles out there about it. Here's one: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/sandy-bridge-ddr3.html

They all say DDR3-1600 is the best compromise as it offers little to no benefit (depending on usage) but is generally only ~$10 more than 1333.

Who is insisting on a lesser GPU? Seems to me like the GTX 560 Ti is just fine. I don't see the point in paying $100 more for the 570. And that motherboard is currently $159 which isn't a waste. I never skimp on a MB because, like the PSU what is the point of loading everything on a cheap second rate item. I have been burned in the past trying to save a few bucks on a MB.

For the GPU, you know that there is another company that makes them right? Oh yeah, I forgot you have green-tinted glasses.

As for the mobo, spending $160 on a mobo is a waste when you can get a perfectly functional, high quality board that meets your requirements for $120.
