I think that if OSU wins out, they should go to the Sugar Bowl. Regardless of how close OSU wins by or how much USC deystroys their opponents. The defending national champions should be able to defend their championship, as long as they are still ranked respectively. If OSU and USC both end up with only 1 loss, how can you not give it to the defending champs?

Maybe the voters and computers think USC is a better team....last year doesn't matter.

Edit: Comps like OSU, but voters don't. That's how it works.

If OSU finishes in third in both polls (which is only going to happen if they win out), I dont see USC going to the Sugar Bowl. Which is good, because I dont see USC matching up against OU as well as OSU would.

"beating Penn state by 1 point *cough cough* "

That was a great game and the Buckeyes prevailed. Penn State really rose to the occasion, as has every team Ohio State has played, that's what happens to the National Champions, opponents get fired up.

We Buckeye fans are just as proud of that one point win as all the other wins, football isn't about posing, or style, it's about winning.

Now Ohio State has two extremely tough games left, and I won't predict what will happen, but if Ohio State prevails against Purdue they'll move to #3 in the AP and/or ESPN, and if they beat Michigan at home they'll move past USC in at least one of those polls and make it to the Sugar bowl.

Reason 1- they will deserve it.
Reason 2- some of the voters will think they should get to defend their title.
Reason 3- some of the voters who didn't like the fact OSU won last year want to see them lose to OK.
Reason 4- some of the voters want to see if OSU defense can stop OK.
