4 Oklahoma 7-1
5 Southern California 6-1
6 Georgia 7-1
7 Texas Tech 8-0
8 Florida 6-1
9 Oklahoma St 7-1
10 Utah 8-0
11 Boise St 7-0
12 Ohio State 7-2
13 TCU 8-1
14 Missouri 6-2
15 Florida St 6-1
16 Ball State 8-0

19 LSU 5-2
20 BYU 7-1
21 Michigan St 7-2
22 North Carolina 6-2
23 South Florida 6-2
24 Oregon 6-2

With Penn State's win, they become the first team to become BCS eligible, by getting the required 9 wins.

Both Texas Tech and Georgia should pass USC next week, if they can win.

The Mountain West conference has more teams in the top 20 then the Big East, ACC, and Pac 10 combined.

I hate saying it, but go Penn State!
Since OSU lost to them, I need them to rep the Big 10 and make something for themselves, else our loss feels all the more pathetic... even though it already stands as a pathetic loss. sigh

The fan behavior at the end of the game definitely upset me, but that's nothing new. They were definitely killing the mood while lowering the flag. :( Considering the visitor section is right at the section where we lower the flag.

I've rooted for OSU the last two years. Hopefully we won't let the big10 down if we make it this year. I already have tickets to the NCS game, so hopefully bama will lose.

I didn't hear about what the PSU people did, but this was a huge game for us with the NCG on the line so I'm guessing they were just drunk and rowdy.

I don't know that it was really what I would call pathetic. Pryor made a couple of critical mistakes by getting greedy and going for a little too much, but to his credit he didn't show nerves, which is a good thing. It's quite disappointing for this year, since we did have plenty of opportunity to win the game, but overall it worked out better than I expected. I really thought that Pryor would show nerves and Penn State would win it going away. Instead the defense did their job and Pryor didn't get rattled even if he did try to do more than he should have.

I'm going to LMAO if Ball State ends up getting into a BCS bowl in the case TCU, Utah and Boise State lose.

EDIT: Tulsa too. Damn, it's going to be a nightmare if all of these mid majors run the table since there's only 1 guaranteed spot for a mid-major in the top 12.

Our defense was good, but our offense was terrible. Play calling, as usual this year, was bland. I've said it before, and it continues to be obvious, but the play calling is being dumbed down so that Pryor has some decent chances. He really never threw the ball far at all, and there were moments that he never even looked at one side of the field, times when those players were wide open for a long throw.

And while I believe Pryor will make a terrific QB, this year is showing that Tressel seems to not care so much about getting the team anywhere, but rather prepping Pryor for next year by giving him needed experience. Could have easily put Boeckman in the game, thrown in some more dynamic plays that set up deep passes and hope to make good of them. Tressel has seemingly given up on ever playing Boeckman again at this rate, since he never played him yesterday, in what was obviously our toughest game of our Big 10 schedule.

It wasn't they that necessarily did anything 'wrong', it was just amplified by the fact that I was standing directly in front of them, and I was already upset enough as it was. And yeah, just drunk and rowdy, nothing new as an OSU fan.

And I meant to throw in a ":p" after "Bastards?", but I seem to have forgotten that. Ooops.
All fun and games. I just had a terrible day yesterday from afternoon through the end of the night. Good thing I was in uniform for the flag raising, or I probably would have found myself in some trouble that night. ;)

There will likely be 3-4 SEC and Big 12 teams in the top 14. Since only 2 teams from a conference can make BCS bowls, it makes it more likely that multiple non-bcs teams can make it.

If the season ended today, here is how I think the bowls would play out:

National Championship Game: Texas vs Alabama.
Rose Bowl gets USC and Penn State (Pac 10 champion & Big 10 champion)
Orange Bowl gets Florida State (ACC Champion)
Fiesta Bowl takes Oklahoma (to replace Texas). No more Big 12 teams are eligible, which gets rid of Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, and Missouri.
Sugar Bowl takes Georgia (to replace Alabama). No more SEC teams are eligible, which gets rid of Florida.
There are now 3 spots left for Utah, Boise St, Ohio State, or TCU. Utah has a guaranteed spot for being the highest overall of the non-bcs conferences. Ohio State would certainly get a spot, which then means the Orange bowl (last in picking order this year) gets stuck choosing a second non-bcs team.

Tressel is very much a classic Big 10 style coach, the old "three yards and a cloud of dust". If you're expecting him to ever really go after the spectacular plays.

That said, I'd argue that Tressel is more concerned with the team in the long run. Yes, Boeckman might have been a good change-up yesterday, but overall I agree with Tressel that it's better in the long run to give Pryor the playing experience. There are legitimate arguments to be made either way, but I think that it's only practical to continue building Pryor.

Don't forget that only one team from a non-BCS conference can make it... so that leaves out TCU.(Unless there isn't enough eligible teams.)

My point was that as it stands right now, there won't be enough eligible teams from BCS conferences.

Also, the rule says that only one team from a non-BCS conference automatically qualifies (not that only one can make it). However, in practice, the bowls will always choose a BCS school over a non-BCS school, so that effectively means that only the automatic qualifier will make it.

Sucks that USC and Florida won't get a chance to play in the title game since they lost a single game. That's how the system works though. I think USC and Florida are still the two best teams in the country, but Alabama and Texas Tech could be also. Where's that playoff system? :(

Uh, the two teams above them are also undefeated and also have much better wins under their belts.

I could see your claim maybe making sense should a team with a loss sneak in instead of them...

I think Bama will fall to LSU. Even if they win, they still have to win the SEC Championship Game.

I might have some sympathy for them if their one loss had come to a decent team, but after losing to oregon state and ole miss you don't really have much of an argument as to why your team should play for the national championship.

Texas Tech might lose to OU AND Okie St. Penn State is still looking good for the NCG, IMO.

LSU sucks this year.. I doubt they will take out bama. I think florida will roll them though in the SEC championship.

I also think texas tech has a good chance of losing to both oklahoma and oklahoma st considering those two teams both had close games against texas.

I think it is very possible that a 1 loss Big12/SEC team gets in ahead of Penn State.
