BCS Rankings out

There is less then one point seperating USC at 7th and Georgia at 4th. If Auburn wins out, USC's strength of schedule and QW bonus should help a lot.

If you take only average computer ranking, which I find to be better then either the whole BCS or the polls, you get the following top 25:

1. Oklahoma
2. Miami
3. Ohio State
4. Florida State
5. Virginia Tech
6. Georgia
7. USC
8. Purdue
9. No. Illinois
10. TCU
11. Nebraska
12. Michigan State
13. Utah
14. Washington State
14. Iowa
16. LSU
17. Miami-Ohio
18. Oklahoma State
19. Wisconsin
20. Tennessee
21. Auburn
22. Bowling Green
23. Michigan
24. Arkansas
25. Florida

I give it 2 weeks before Michigan is back in there like they should be. This week Purdue is going down, the next week it is MSU...

Is Georgia really that good???

Georgia has beaten only 1 team in the top 30, Tennessee. They've lost to #12 LSU. So probably not

On the other hand, USC had only beaten 1 team in the top 30, Auburn. They've lost to #64, Cal

In fact, Michigan State is the only one-loss team to beat 2 top 30 teams (15 Iowa and 27 Minnesota), but they lost to #72 Lousiana Tech.

But you must admit that Georgia absolutely destroyed Tenn...

i think its also depends on how difficult schedule you have and stuff

damn SC shud be beaten CAL

same could be said of Georgia and LSU, tho LSU is ranked top 20. that's why Georgia is ranked higher (and should be) than USC their only loss is to a top 20 opponent. if GA wins out the rest of the year, there is NO doubt they should be ranked higher than USC.

on the other hand, if GA wins out and beat auburn last game of the season, and they have a shot at getting to the BCS Championship game.

The one problem that I have with georgia is their MOV in half the games isn't that good. USC, on the other hand has destroyed everyone, except their one loss.

I would say if Michigan state wins out with good MOV, they should leap frog everyone. Otherwise it's a tossup between Forida State (bad SOS, but good loss, medium MOV) Georgia (good SOS, good loss, poor MOV) and USC (bad SOS, bad loss, but great MOV). That of course assumes everyone keeps playing how they have been.

Of course, everything is Moot if Oklahoma and either Miama/Virginia tech win out.

It looks like everybody's playing to see who gets to lose to Oklahoma. I think the only team that can beat them is Oklahoma.

Heck, if Michigan can beat Purdue, it's good bet they'll break into the rankings next week since there will probably be at least a couple top 15 upsets.

Michigan is only 17th, and you know they will move up slightly in the polls and more in the computer rankings. I don't even think there would need to be a top 15 loss for it to happen.

Actually there would need to be a top 15 loss, because Purdue is currently 8th 😉

somehow ranking OSU in the top ten just seems wrong

Ohio State would shut them down pretty good, but not likely they'll get to play them.
