Well the only way LSU makes the NC game is if they win the SEC. I don't think they'll send a 1 loss LSU that doesn't even play in the SEC championship game. When Oklahoma I believe it was got to play in the NC game a few years back it gave us our only split national champions in the BCS era. And the BCS doesn't wanna give more fuel to the fire of the people calling for a playoff. So for LSU to play in the NC game, both Georgia and Alabama have to beat Auburn. I can see Alabama pulling it off, but not Georgia.
If Auburn loses to one team and then wins the SEC, I don't know if they'll let a 1 loss SEC champion Auburn go over TCU. Guess it would depend partially if the loss is to Alabama or Georgia. And what if Auburn wins out the SEC west then loses to Florida or South Carolina in the SEC championship game?
I think TCU and Boise State have earned their shot finally. They've both been busting the BCS for years. TCU didn't just beat but stomped an undefeated #5 team. I would send TCU over a 1 loss LSU or Auburn. I don't know if I'd send Boise over the same, hard to say. As it stands I think it's more likely Auburn will lose a game this year than Oregon as they have a tougher remaining schedule and likely a championship game.
An undefeated #5 team that had no business being there. They were overhyped and when it came time to actually face a good opponent, they didn't just get beat, they got DESTROYED! While I think TCU is a good team, there is no way they should even be playing near the BCS NC, and Boise is iffy.
TCU has played only 2 opponents that meant anything. Oregon State was #24 when they played but are now 4-4 and don't contribute anything to TCU's schedule. They played Baylor (7-3) who's roll was put to an end by OSU. That's it. None of their other games (in or out of conference) count for anything. Racking up points on Tennessee Tech & Wyoming isn't impressive.
Boise looks a bit more impressive, but their schedule still pales in comparison to Auburn & Oregon. A very close game against VT (who played horribly) who ended up losing 4 days later to a FCS school (heart breaking for Hokies everywhere). A win over Oregon State which is also useless (see above) and their in-conference games don't mean squat. They have 4 games ahead of them against NO ONE. They are currently 8-0 meaning they've had 2 bye weeks.
Auburn has won 3 games against ranked opponents (South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas) and still has Alabama to play. They are currently 10-0 and have had no bye weeks.
Oregon has also beaten 2 ranked teams (Stanford and USC) and will have to play Arizona in 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, LSU has beaten 4 ranked teams and lost to 1 (Auburn) and still has to play Arkansas. Wisconsin knocked off OSU & Iowa, yet lost to MSU.
This arguement is worthless with another 3-4 weeks to go in the season. I've stated my
opinion and it'll be impacted come December on the outcomes of the teams. That said, I do not believe that a undefeated Boise or TCU team has the SCHEDULE to warrant a BCS NC bid when compared to a team in the SEC (Auburn/LSU) or PAC-10 (Oregon/Stanford).
