I personally would love to see OU play OSU and let UGA and LSU finally go head to head. But in truth, I think the two best playing teams in the nation right now are OU and UGA, but they won't be able to play eachother for a national championship. LSU imo is the least deserving of the top 5 to go to the NCG.

The picture is just as muddy as if you did a +1 game to solve the NC picture. Quite frankly six teams can honestly claim worthy to be in the NC game.

Which is why we should have a 6+2 playoff system. Six automatic bids from the six 'major' conferences and then two at large bids that would go to teams like Hawaii if they're in the top 12 and then to the next highest ranked non-automatic bid 'major' conference team.

So this year we would have something like this:

Automatics:
LSU
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Virginia Tech
USC
West Virginia

At-Large:
Hawaii
Georgia

Now, what is not to like about 3 weeks of watching that unfold???

Ohio State v. Hawaii
LSU v. West Virginia
Oklahoma v. Virginia Tech
Georgia v. USC

Is anyone else drooling at the prospect of this yet?

Ohio State v. USC
LSU v. Oklahoma

Man, who would win those games I wonder?

USC v. LSU

Obviously, a playoff system in college football would suck. It's not my job to figure out how to make it work but it definitely needs to happen. The other bowls will NOT be cheapened because in all honestly how the hell did you make bowls like the Poinsetta Bowl any more meaningless? They will still serve as something for the fans of those teams just like they do today. Nothing will change.

LSU is not that good, they have proven that all year people.

They might be the third best team in their conference, 'championships' aside.

I'd go 2nd best just behind Jawja.

florida is better as well.

No way. Just because Tebow rang up gaudy stats in garbage time doesn't make them good. They were beat by an average Auburn team, an underrated Jawja team and an undisciplined LSU team.

if you watch to florida/lsu game, you can tell which team is better, and it wasn't the team the won.

I watched the game and thought both teams were depressingly average during that game and I didn't have a dog in that fight. I hate FU and LSU.

But I think that is the sad truth about the parity in the SEC. Last year I thought Florida was average as did the majority of people here. I remember people saying things like 'PLEASE COME CRY ON THESE FORUMS NOW THAT YOUVE GOT WHAT YOU WANT SEC FANS' 'Michigan should be in this game and now we will have an uncompetitive slaughter'.

That's the major problem with college football. There are only a handful of major out of conference clashes and they never tell us enough to paint a full picture. You can't judge a team by watching it just in it's own conference. If any year proved that it was last year.
