i think now that bowl season is done, it's clear that this year the big 10 was the best conference.

i'd love to see penn state v usc, though.

how do you figure the Big TelevEN was the best??

They ended up 3-4 in bowl games.

The Big 12 was 5-2.

USC should finish 2. PSU at No. 3.

PSU National Champion Runner Up..

USC Lost.
Drop them out of the top 25.
Close the school.
Fumigate the area.
Firebomb the town.

lol. i did think it was funny the rankings left oregon at 13 and only had OU at 20. Oregon should have fallen out of the top 25.

Oops, yeah you're right. CU is definitely optional.

Big 10 the best? Gotta laugh at that.......Big 10's record in bowls this year was 3-4.

Big 12 was 5-3, and the ACC was 5-3. PAC-10 was 3-2, the SEC was 3-3 as was C-USA.

So there are five other conferences that had better records than the Big 10.....all five either even or winning records. Big 10 had a losing record in Bowls.

where are you guys getting 3-4? i checked the bowl challenge cup standing this morning:

Bowl Challenge Cup
Conference Bowl record Winning Percentage

Big Ten 5-2 .714
WAC 2-1 .667
Big 12 5-3 .625
Big East 3-2 .600
ACC 4-3 .571
SEC 3-4 .429
Conference USA 2-3 .400
Pac-10 2-5 .286
Mountain West 0-3 .000

Pac-10 had a strong showing. If USC had won, and I think anyone could agree that they easily could have, then Pac-10 would be 4-1? I don't think we're OVERRATED to that degree... Big 12 is freaking overrated too..

*cough* oregon  and no they would not have been 4-1

It'll be interesting to see the final BCS rankings. I think Texas and USC will clearly be 1-2. But I'm curious if their rankings for 3-6 will be different. I think all 4 of those teams are about equal.

Good to see WVU finally getting some respect, after all, they are the unofficial SEC champs. Say all you want about the Big East, but WVU would give any team besides Texas/USC a run for their money this year.

Humm, I just check my spreadsheet and SEC is 3-3 = .500 <Wins: LSU, Florida, Bama; Losses: GA, S. Carolina, Auburn>. Which 7th SEC team went to the bowl game? Which bowl?
