BCS Bowls prediction

Here's the formula

Sugar Bowl - #1 vs #2 (SEC Affl.)
Orange Bowl - ACC/Big East Champions
Rose Bowl - Big 10/Pac 10 Champions
Fiesta Bowl - Big 12 Champion

With that in mind, my picks for now are (will change if we see any upsets):

Sugar Bowl - OU vs. USC (I don't think USC is a good choice but they're lucky that they lost early)
Orange Bowl - FSU vs. VT (I think VT and Miami will tie for Big East record, but with a head to head comparison, VT is going to be the champion of the Big East)
Rose Bowl - Michigan vs. Miami (Rose bowl likes to stick with traditional Big 10/pac 10 affiliation, and since OU is going to the Sugar Bowl, they could pick either LSU, OSU, Miami. I think Miami would be the one)
Fiesta Bowl - OSU vs. LSU (Since Big 12 is going to Sugar bowl, they'll get the SEC Champion and an at-large bid, which will be OSU)

Texas in theory could move up in the polls if OSU falls again, Texas will put themselves in the Fiesta Bowl.
I don't see TCU in any of the BCS even if they're undefeated. I don't know which bowls get to pick first this year so I didn't take that into account.

Also watch for Pitt. vs VT and Miami that'd eliminate them from the BCS.

The next couple weeks in the Big 10 are going to be a bloodfest.

OSU has to play Mich ST, Purdue, and Michigan. Any of those could go either way.
Iowa has to play Purdue, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Those could go either way.
Purdue has to get through OSU and if they do, I think they should earn Big 10 champ title, not OSU or Michigan.

It's going to be a great 3 weeks of football in the Big 10.

few other things to consider:

Miami has to play Tenn and Pitt yet - they could lose either of those games - their offensive holes were really exposed, and Berlin is no Dorsey..

Fla St still has to play Florida, who is playing very well right now...they could go down as well..

Big 10 will be a brutal finish - If OSU were to win out, it's a tough call to pick USC or Fla St over them, since their strength of schedule, already tough, gets dramatically tougher with these last 3 games...

I think Purdue is only the 4th best team in the Big 10...Michigan is probably the most talented team (which kills me to say!)...

I don't see Okalahoma or USC losing, the rest of it could be a mess...

I think TCU has to go to a BCS game if they are in the top 8 or something like that, don't they?

But I'm biased. I'm 10 minutes from Kinnick (UI football stadium)...and we beat Michigan. 2 years in a row.

I think it is the top 6 of the BCS standings, something that even if they win out, they will need alot of teams to lose.

Lesson to AD at TCU, schedule non patsy's next year

SOS 98 WTF? Georgia and Iowa will probably leap frog them this week, knocking them down to 11th

Southern Miss will probably take them out anyway

If you're not watching the SEC, it's a mess right now. It's possible UT, Florida, and Georgia can all three tie for the East title. And at this point, I believe it goes down to the 7th tie-breaker which is a vote by the ADs of SEC schools not tied. Schools of thought are since the West will 3 more ADs voting, they could pick UT since they are the worst of the bunch and an easier opponent for the West team.

Speaking of the West, looking like that will come down to the Miss/LSU game. Miss is in the lead right now and undefeated in the SEC. LSU is a game behind. If LSU wins, they go to the title game.

Another strange possability is Tenn winning out but not being selected for the SEC title game. At that point, Tenn is most likely in the top 12 of the BCS and eligible. Tenn is known to travel very well to big bowl games. They could be an at large big.

Just thought I'd throw that out in case non SEC fans are interested.

if OSU wins out they deserve to play in the Sugar bowl.

Dont all the big 12, sec, acc, and big east have to play their conferance championship games also?

Oklahoma has about the easiest remaining schedule

Im hoping actually for a USC vs. OSU Sugar bowl.

The ACC and Big East don't have conference title games. The winner of the conference is the team with the best record in the league. Barring something spectacular FSU will be the ACC rep. The Big East could be won by Miami, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh even West Virginia could win it.
