Had my car at the dealer today, they were replacing a switch for the cruise control (the set switch) to repair it. Last week they replaced the entire BCM (body control module) in attempt to do the repair even though I told them the switch was intermittent. During the week I noticed the remote start function didn't work and was missing from the DIC entirely (you can enable or disable it there), so the tech tries to re-program the new BCM and the remote start still won't work. Then they installed yet another new BCM and tried 4 times to program it (the last time by a shop foreman) and it STILL won't remote start. The explanation offered was that it must be the rainy weather that interfered with the connection to GM's server, come back next week and we'll try again...HUH?? has anyone had any experience dealing with these things??(BCM's)?? thank god it's still under warranty...

Have those idiots tried reinstalling your Original BCM ? ? ? That was never the issue, so it should be ok ... You just had a bad cruise switch and a dealership I would never return to. They can't do something easy, like just change the switch you KNEW was bad ? ? ?

The original was sent back to GM last week, they followed a troubleshooting "flowchart" and replaced the BCM before ever checking the switch with a VOM for continuity. I think they might have ordered the wrong BCM as some Malibu's and G6'S offered remote start but not on the base trims..
