BCC list/address book question

Hi, I have a few questions.

I have a list of some 200+ addresses that I send news out to. I usually just paste them all into the BCC line. However, lately I've been getting Outlook timeout errors with some of the emails not going through. Something along the lines of "the operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server". First off, is this a problem with our server or the email addresses to which I'm trying to send mail?

So anyway I split the list up into smaller 25 email "chunks" and put those addresses in the BCC line. Some of them go through, others don't. I don't have time to constantly figure out which email addresses are working and which aren't. So I was thinking of just adding all the addresses into an address book, but I have several questions.

When I send out an email, do I put the address book name in the "to" section?

Will it send an individual email to each address or just one email to a big list of addresses?

The reason I'm asking is because if a few of the email addys don't work that's fine but I don't want to be getting errors from the ones that do work just because they're in the same BCC section.

I don't think outlook actually waits for the server to validate the email address (in fact, I don't think the server will validate any addresses at all). There must be something else wrong with the server. Is the emai you are sending large (ie, are there a lot of attachments)?

why don't you ask your isp, it sounds more like a server problem than anything else.

Other things you can try: 1) use something other than outlook 2) try emailing some test hotmail accounts or something and see if you get the same problem when you email only one or two accounts (try this several times as the problem might not occur every time).
