So I've got BC2, and I can't play it online...

I am able to get into a game and play for about 2 or 3 minuets or less before I get disconnected every time.

"You've lost connection, check your network settings" or something like that.

If any of you BFBC2 guru's know how to fix this, download teamviewer (www.teamviewer.com), and I'll set up a remote session with you so you can fix me

Things I've already tried:

Reinstalling the game
Reinstalling PB
Manually updating PB
Adding BC2 to the DEP exceptions list
Setting my IP on the router to DMZ to open up all ports.

System specs, if needed to help trouble shoot:

Windows 7 home premium 64-bit (all windows updates)
Intel i5-760 overclocked to 3.6ghz (very stable)
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard
Sapphire HD6950 (shaders unlocked, mild overclock)
8gb G-Skill Ripjaw DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24
Intel x25-v 40gb ssd (Windows)
Intel x25-v 40gb ssd (Games)
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1gb (Storage)
Silverstone Strider 750watt modular PSU
Netgear WNDR3700 v2 Router (this computer is hardwired into it)

I've had this problem also. And I use a Linksys router. Cant remember what I did to fix it though. Can you update the game without going into the game ?

Are you getting disconnected when playing any other game or doing any other Internet activity?

This may not be relevant, but a few months ago, I had a problem with the 10/100 Mbps network software setting on my Ubuntu server and that was causing my entire home network to disconnect and reconnect every 10 minutes.

Sounds like you need to run the game as admin. Right click on the game shortcut, make sure you've checked "run as admin". I used to have that problem on multiplayer in BF2, took me a while to figure out.

I fixed it guys.

I'll add to this that I think it's horribly stupid that you have to play around with all kind of router settings just to get a game to work properly. I can't recall the last time I had to make such a poopoo of my router settings just to get a game to work.

Would help if you explained what you did to fix it instead of just blaming it on the game.

I fixed mine by disabling windows defender. Either Defender was getting conflicted or it was battling with my AV and knocking off network connections. Either way I didn't need to mess with my router in the end, or even windows firewall.

One thing I REALLY, REALLY hate is looking through google for an answer to some problem I am having, finding a forum post with someone having the same problem I am with that person saying that he or she has fixed the problem, but not actually giving any indication at all as to how he or she fixed the problem.

These people can die. You ask the internet for help, the least you can do is give a little back.

Guys when you solve a problem, add to your post your solution so others can find it. I am curious what you were able to do to solve it that DMZ did not work for.
