We're on a day trip to whistler. Bad photos that don't represent it very well.

That drive is so much better since they expanded the highway. I used to dread it, but now it's actually an enjoyable, beautiful drive.

Indeed. I'm surprised they left some parts of it untouched though. There are still stretches that are 2 lanes and narrow. Guess it would have been too expensive to build out onto the water in these areas.

As much as I joke about Canada... I'd love to visit more of the country. I visited Niagra Falls when I was younger but I don't count that. :p

It is very scenic, I've done it 3 times. It sucks in the winter though.

Sea to Sky Highway correct?

You should check out what they've done in the interior of B.C. especially with Kicking Horse Canyon

My grandparents were from Saskatchewan. They used to always rave about British Columbia. I traveled in three provinces with them when younger but didn't make it there. Looks great!

Yeah these cell phone shots suck. I wanted to get a shot of the tantalus range which you can see from a lookup point along the way. Very impressive. But the sun was in the way there. Here's another road shot.

Just moved to Toronto from Vancouver today, and I'm missing it already :(

Oh right. Here's wishing you make a great life there BTW! Don't know you at all really but from the few times we've met I'd say you deserve it. Yeah I'd miss Vancouver too, but there's plenty of urban jungle to explore in TO to make up for the more literal jungle you lose here.

It's all humid here man. I walked 8 blocks and was sweating my bag off.

Here's a pic of the Tantalus range from the lookout. Wasn't able to snap my own pic of this but this is much better.

I've always wanted to visit BC. I hear the trees there are HUGE. Would be something to see.

And it rains chocolate and we all live in gingerbread houses! lol no trees aren't any bigger than normal here. We do have a LOT of forested, wild land though. And yes you CAN find some old growth forest here but it's certainly not the norm.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_old_growth_forests#North_America

If you take a trip to these parks you WILL see some amazingly large trees but like I said they are not the norm. Here like almost everywhere else on earth it's all 2nd and 3rd growth forest.
