I have a whole bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce that I'm dyin to use on some chicken. However, I have no idea how to do this. I want to make something akin to Lloyd's BBQ chicken (shredded and saucy), so I'm thinking of cooking some chicken breasts in a skillet, then shredding them and throwing them in a pot with the bbq sauce for a bit. Is there any better way to do this?

get a nice fire going in your firebox. and oak will be a good wood.

adjust the temperature in your pit to about 220

rub the chicken with a lot of black pepper and a good amount of salt to draw out any water. add some cayenne for heat. sage and thyme are good additions.

smoke for about 4 hours. you're looking for the breast to be at 165.

enjoy.

(PS - don't ruin your chicken by slathering ketchup all over it)

the same way i make my ribs:

Salt + Pepper + bbq sauce (Small amount)

wrap in foil and bake at 250 for 2 hours. open up, apply fresh bbq sauce coat, and bake for 20 more minutes open foil so that it glazes.

Do ed21x's recipe. You could wrap each chicken breast in foil with sauce. Cook for however long and just shred the chicken when done.
