Based on Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Tales series of books (probably my favorite). It was announced last summer that BBC/Carnival would be making this into a show, and the first teaser aired over the weekend. I've only found a low quality youtube upload and it's only 15 seconds, but I'm really excited about this show. Alexander Dreymon will be playing the main character Uhtred, and the series will also feature Rutger Hauer and Matthew MacFadyen.

If you haven't read the books, they're great. There's 8 books in the series thus far and they're about 300 pages a piece in hardcover. It's the story of the Viking invasion of England and the rise of Alfred the Great told through the eyes of a young displaced Saxon lord who was raised by Danes as a pagan.
