Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the best forum or the help forum, so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

System specs

Intel e6600 (not overclocked)
2gb DDR 800 RAM
ATI 5770 1GB (tried the latest 3 drivers 10.7, 10.8, 10.9)
Windows XP 32 bit SP3

Battlefield Bad company 2 has a problem with reflective surfaces such as windows, metal on the guns etc. It shows them all psychadellic and mutlicoloured. The game isn't really playable in this state and I've tried googling the error but had no luck. All setting are turned down to an absolute minimum. I bought the game on steam and tried checking the game cache and defragging it. Anyone got a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Are your Video Card Drivers up to date? First place I'd check is there. I think the latest is Catalyst 10.6.

Update drivers it's a symptom called artifacting.

I had multicolored textures too except mine were multicolored transperency textures (captions, UI, pause menu, etc.) which went away after updating my old, old drivers (GTX 260M).

If it doesn't go away with a driver update, downclock your video card and see if it does, it could also mean your video card is dying. You can test this by running something else graphically intensive like Furmark (for a few minutes at a time, prolonged furmark can cause some healthy video card to shut down/artifact by hitting temps beyond the safety limit) and if you see artifacting there too, it's is usually a issue of your video card.
