Gaza crisis: Ceasefire between Israel and Hamas 'imminent'

A ceasefire is set to be announced in the Gaza conflict, Egyptian and Palestinian officials say.

Egypt's President Mohammed Mursi, who has led mediation efforts, said he expected Israel to end air strikes late on Tuesday. A Hamas official also told the BBC a truce was imminent.

Israel has not confirmed this, but has put plans for a land invasion on hold.

Fingers crossed.

I will not be rooting for the continued existence of Hamas... but perhaps Israel would like to put off paying the price a little longer.

Israel has not confirmed this, but has put plans for a land invasion on hold.

However it has also told villagers in north, south and east of Gaza to move to central areas for their own safety.

Biased negotiator and the weaker party are making the statements.

Israel has not stated anything yet.

Until they also do; Hamas is still the target.

ISrael is going to not trust the word of Hamas; they are going to continue the attacks to reduce the impact/potential of a broken promise down the road. They know that the promise will be broken and the whole scenario will have to be repeated.
But it will show the new Arab spring that the old Hamas still exists.

The sooner we the world let one roll over the other the quicker this will end.
