Jesus Christ this is painful to watch. It's embarassing.
At this point - this where North Korea is starting to make demands... and it's this point where we give them one last warning to stop being childish and come to the table to talk. One FINAL warning.
If they keep pushing this stupid narrative in an effort for us to stop monitoring, stop sanctioning, etc... Go full blown and double their sanctions. That's what brought them to the table in the first place. Don't try to reason with a moron like Kim. It's like arguing with a child, and sometimes kids need a harder spanking.
The ironic thing is the bigger moron here is Trump, Kim is just protecting his interests and made some articulate reasons why.
And if Trump does like I said - and cranks the shit out of the sanctions to tighten the noose on that dumb fat fuck, he will certainly not be the bigger moron.

For the millionth time sanctions did nothing to bring them to the table as they were already at the table. North Korea has had an open invitation to talks between their leader and the US president for at least two decades. The US was the one that refused that until now.
Already at the table? da fuq you smoking? NK literally had not spoken to SK in DECADES - and understand, I don't really care about ties with the US. MY main concern is just peace talks with SK. If they could somehow come together, that alone would be amazing...
Kim changed his tune once it wasn't just US sanctions, but UN Sanctions. Ring a bell? Ship blockades that started catching their import ships that were attempting to defy sanctions? That is when they started coming to the table was after that started happening. Please prove me otherwise, because you're dead fucking wrong on this one.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Leaders of the two countries last met in 2007 and this meeting was a result of south Korea’s ‘sunshine policy’. These meetings ended when a more anti-north administration took power in South Korea.

North Korea loves having talks, that’s when they get money, food, etc. in exchange for promises they will break when convenient. The idea that they had to be forced into them by sanctions is nonsense.
Moon is a leftist who took office in May of last year, back when Trump was threatening warwith North Korea. He made a deep and concerted effort to try to broker negotiations between Trump and Kim to defuse the tension, and part of his strategy was making grandiose promises about what talks could accomplish — even floating the possibility that Trump could win a Nobel Prize to entice him to the table.
The problem, as Kelly points out, is that this was always a kind of shell game: Moon could never change the fact that the US and North Korea want fundamentally different things. Basically, he argues, this was a gambit to try to convince Trump not to go to war with North Korea — one that may yet fail.

3) Flattering Trump into diplomacy is likely also why Moon’s government credited Trump with driving NK to negotiation through maximum pressure and suggested that Trump receive a Nobel peace prize.
4) It is an open secret in Korea that this was just flattering Trump to prevent him from starting a war. No one actually believes it. My students & colleagues laugh at the suggestion. No one thought the western media wd actually start seriously debating it. Trump is loathed here.
5a) The problem, of course, is that none of this Trump-whispering is true: NK is not going to denuclearize; NK was not driven to negotiate by maximum pressure (they chose to negotiate, because they established nuclear deterrence with the US mainland)
6a) The great irony, which US conservative media will never admit of course, is that Trump actually drove SK to the table, not NK. Trump scared SKs so much last year, that Moon’s approval rating has shot up into the 80s%, even though he won with just 41% a year ago

Goes on.. Summarized:
Basically Trump only drove SK to the negotiating table in a weakened position bc they are scared of a potential war. Seoul is keenly aware of the tactical situation.
NK is pivoting as they have achieved nuclear deterrence and sense opportunity.
But the temple Trumpos will continue to delude themselves Trump talk was taken seriously and he's going to win a nobel.
