Don't know of any bonuses for finishing a model, there wasn't for finishing the shorter Sulphur-cycle model atleast...

Since you do get credit as the model progresses, it's unlikely very many had run it if there'd be no credit before end, it doesn't matter points-wise if the model does blow-up.

For the science on the other hand, and for the satisfaction if manages to finish a model, oh, and for the party :beer: it's discouraging if the model blows-up... Would guess the nearer the end the more disheartening...

Anyway, appart for credit-purposes, the Trickles is to report on how it's going, and the intermediate file-uploads is so CPDN can get some scientific value out of the model even if it does crap-up before the end.

Oh, and haven't heard of any models that has been terminated, but atleast in theory CPDN can also send a reply to your trickle-up asking computer to terminate the model. This in case example you've generated an ice-world or another crazy mode...

BTW, to check if trickle-messages and intermediate file-upload is working is actually also part of BOINC alpha-testing... 😛 :beer:

So if that's the case why the hard feelings about losing WUs on this project? Do you get some sort of massive bonus if one ever finishes?

Anyway, I guess I should be glad I never tried this project, guess I'll head back to my half hour SIMAP WUs now... 😛

This one was all about the challenge of doing such a huge work unit. Not 1/10 of 10 work units.

After 891 hours, 45 minutes, it bombed out with a computational error 😀
I'd done about 27 %

And that, ladies and gents, is that.
I'm putting this PC back on to Rosetta 😀

Edit:
Guess I'll have to find another reason for a party now 😀 😀

Aye!

If you need suggestions on party ideas.... just let me know :beer: ;beer;

BBC's loss is Rosey's gain. Welcome back Andy 🙂
