Its been on sale at some areas for less, but have never found it cheaper w/o coupons and such.

+tax and ship, but still should come out less than other places.
Crutch and other ppl have it as high as 1600, shady joints for 1499 or so.

I have this set and absolutely love it.

It's my primary PC display and it's amazing. Once you go 37" you won't go back.

Says it only supports DVI-HDCP. So would I be able to use this as a primary computer display if I only had a DVI card?

Well since there is as of now one video card that supports hdcp, the nvidia 7950, and the other gentleman above says he uses it as his main computer display I would say you should be good to go.

He COULD have HDCP. I only have a 7600GT

Can someone tell me what the differences between the w1 and w3 models are? Also, anyone that has used this monitor -- how well does it perform for gaming?

I run it with a 7800GT, it is not HDCP compliant. And I run fine at 1080P.

Its all in the AVS forum link. I cant read it for you, but the summary is"

W1 and W3 are both 1080p

W1 has reports of some seeing "banding" and hearing the backlight humming noise

W1 has less inputs than the W3

W3 was shipped to warehouses with 1.4 firmware

W3 with 1.4 fw wont allow you to shut off "auto-switching" of inputs, and may cause fault sensing, and make it switch to another input when you turn in on, or even when watching a source and line power drops a little

W3 with 1080i source has "ghosting" with some fast paced action on screen. Some buyers said 720p had no ghosting, some say they can still see it with certain movies, games

W3 now have 1.5 (and maybe, 1.6) firmware sets, although no one has recieved a `1.6

W3 1.4 must have set returned to factory for 1.5 update, or set must be exchanged, under the retailer extended warranty.

W3 serial numbers that have SN0609 or 0611 seem to be all 1.4, a few got Sn0615 that had fw 1.5

W3 when watching SD picture doesnt over scan, so you can see garbage at top the the picture/screen

W3 1.5, you can turn off "autoswitching"

W3 1.4 or 1.5 has no banding

W3 still unknown if 1.5 or fantom 1.6 fm fixes 1080i "ghosting"

Rumors now flying that the W3 is cheap because it has been discountinued after 6 months or so.

Westinghouse CS will tell you a different story each time you call to ask about what was fixed in 1.5 firmware

I own the 37w1 and it is an awsome display for everything even though it does have a few faults. The design of the 37w3 is nicer as well and it costs $500 less than I paid for mine about 8 months ago. This is a great price on a great all around monitor with alot of inputs.
