On the rebate form it said they need a "photocopy of the barcode"
I thought they just need a picture of the barcode, so I took a picture of it and printed it out.
Later I called the rebate center just to be sure and long behold here is their answer:

They will not honor any rebate with
1) actual barcode (cut out)
2) photograph of anykind (digital or not)
3) any alteration to the photocopy (enlarge or similar)

So better go to your nearest kinko's and get the box xeroxed
 
that's not pulling a fast one... photocopy means photocopy. it may not be the most flexible policy, but it's not deceptive/fraudulent.
 
wow. never heard that before.. void if sending in the ORIGINAL UPC barcode..

That's too weird. I was just going to ask everyone if they were going to send in the cut barcode instead of the photocopy just to be sure we get the rebate. I've never heard of any rebate house denying a rebate because you send in the actual UPC code instead of photocopy. Weird..
