BB website has Compaq 2105US notebook for $749 after $200MIR. Pretty good deal--1800 Athlon,40 gig hd,512RAM,DVD etc. I've been looking at this laptop and think now I'll pull the trigger.

BB must be sick of everyone going for the Dell deals!

If youre looking to buy a non-Centrino laptop, Id consider VPR Matrix 175B4, It has nearly the same specs as that compaq(p4 vs amd), can be had for $799 AR sometimes and is lighter and a higher quality laptop(its actually a rebadged samsung P10)

Someone posted that it's best to hold out for the bigger display screen. This Compaq is a 14.1" screen. I ended up buying this HP Pavillion ZE4355US instead. It's got a bigger screen, and a faster (AMD) processor ... but less memory and a smaller hard drive. Price was about the same, though ... after all the rebates are through.

Still, you can always upgrade the memory and the HD ... there's no way to upgrade the screen that I'm aware of.

I got the HP for $999 + a box of pens, minus $100 ($100 off $1000), and then there's a rebate for $100 cash, or $300 in hotel vouchers (that you can turn around and sell on E-Bay for more than $100 cash).

BB's rebates seem to fluctuate between $100-$150 depending on the week. Anyone know what they will be for next week( April 27-May 4)? Might wait a couple of days and save myself an extra $50.

I finally got around to doing this deal and my local BB manager let me have it for $849 because it was the last one but was NIB. So, $849 less $250 MIR = $600 plus tax. On top of that there is no interest for 18 months. I be HAPPY
