I would have to believe there is some slow bleed of pressure. Might be ok for a day or two. I wouldnt count on storing it charged and having it ready to fire months later.

Newer ones are much better about that, especially if you put a little lube on the tip of the cartridge to keep the seal in good shape.

There's still slow leakage, though.

I believe my Walther PPK replica will still fire quite a few times after sitting for a week.

However, I don't think you are supposed to store it that way, anyway.

so completely gone after 1 week?

I don't think I have ever tried it with a full CO2 cylinder. It's always been used some. So it's a bit hard to say.

I wouldn't count on a CO2 powered gun to last more than a week or so as a general guide, though.

I have heard of them lasting much longer, but I think those were unusual circumstances.

One problem is that the seal gets a strong "imprint" of the top of the CO2 cartridge if you leave one in the gun for a long time. The next cylinder is slightly differently shaped, and it just won't seal.

new unpierced will last for a long time....years?

Once it's in the bbgun shoot it up. Will go flat after a few days depending on the gun.

Do co2 bb gun (the co2) discharges when not in use? Assuming it is new

Depends on the quality of the seal in the gun. Pelgunoil drop on the co2 cartridge prior to using it seems to help quite a bit. I wouldn't depend on it to last more than a week though.

For longevity, PCP guns, spring piston, or pump guns. Co2 is for immediate repeated action. PCP is for repeated action with option to store. Spring and pumps are best for single shot random events.
