I've read a bunch of posts regarding this card and it seems too good to be true... To top it off, I just got my $40 BB gift card in the mail from a January Hard Drive Purchase!

My question is does this version come with the Dongle or what ever it's called? I want to run S-video to my Big Screen HDTV and watch VCDs.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

The retail version of the 8500 includes the following cables and adapters:
1 - Composite (RCA) Video Cable
1 - S-Video Cable
1 - S-Video to Composite (RCA) Converter Cable
1 - DVI to 15-pin Video Converter (The dongle if you like)

The card has three outputs on the back:
1 - 15-pin Monitor Output
1 - S-Video Output
1 - DVI Output

It will output to at least two of the three at the same time (maybe all three?) haven't tried that yet.

Hope this info helps.

Regards,
Mike

my 2 cents........what good is a video card, no matter how good the hardware is, if the drivers are always quirky....such as the ones with any ATI product? I think geforce visiontek nvida cards are the way to go.

True, but the 8500 is very fast and ATI has recently decided to put more effort into drivers (whatever that means).

Wanna slam ATI and the Radeon 8500 ?

Look up the "hall of fame" video cards or current winner HERE <--

I own a GF3 and have owned an 8500 and you cannot see any difference, true my GF3 scores over 8200 on WinMark2001 with Win2000 but I never had any problems with the Radeon 8500 in any game.
