I've heard of this game but know nothing about it. Mayhaps the demo will give me an idea.

Meh, I played the japanese demo on the PS3, and I just don't see what all the hubbub is about this game. Sure, the lead protagonist is a pretty attractive, albeit extremely unproportional, who is clothed by essentially her hair.... but still. Playing the game was a boring mish mash of button mashing, for the most part.

Not for me...

LoL it's only button mashing because you're doing it wrong

I know that there's more too it... i'm not that dense, it's just that I don't find it particularly fun.

But, it's probably not the game for me, I didn't think the DMC games were fun either.

Yeah in that case probably just not a genre you enjoy. I like it specifically because it is like DMC on steroids.

It's definitely more DMC than NG.

The game has oodles of style, but goes a little TOO crazy with the number of enemies - it's kinda easy to lose track of Bayonetta as she goes running around the screen.

I played it and wasn't impressed. The beginning dream sequence is so bizarre and frantic you can barely tell what is going on. When I finally made it to the first actual fight I was dead in about two seconds (really, not exaggerating) before I could even get a feel for the game or do anything. I'll pass.

Played the demo... It's AWESOME :D And the timing is so critical in this game compared to DMC, it's not funny. I was getting owned at first, but then I tried a different approach and voila, goes a lot easier (still kinda hard...). Timing, dodging and insanely looking crazy combo moves - plus a sexy witch as your character - seriously, this game will be perfect :D

I tried the demo, but the torture of that rave dance music during the tutorial was making me angry. It was the first time I have ever been mad at a game, and couldn't wait to delete off my HD.

Yea, I tried it, and it's just so damn confusing. The tutuorial sucks, it doesn't explain what any of the on-screen items mean or anything and that damn tecno music drove me nuts. Plus I suck at games like this in general. I want to play it, but just not going to spend the money on it. Might pick it up when it's dirt cheap, after I finish with the 15 or so other games I have.

To those of you who played and enjoyed DMC, how does Bayonetta feel different/the same to you?

Based on the demo, it's a lot easier to die in B. The timing of attacks is a lot more important too. It's a lot less mashing and more attack timing and dodging. I love this game. And I love all DMC games too. Game looks better than DMC4 though shadows are as shit as in the Dante games (and Nero too I guess ;) ). All in all VERY fun. Just download the demo and see for yourself :)

My 360 doesn't have internet D:

It seems harder than DMC3?

It is definitely a niche game and I don't think it is gonna sell well at all.

Similar to Shinobi for PS2 which was also made by SEGA. I predict Bayonetta with mediocre reviews and a difficulty that makes you cry. That is what it feels like. The models and environments are alright but aren't really up to standards set by other action games. Specifically God of War 3 and Ninja Gaiden which to my eyes look oodles better visually.

Well, the demo is kinda short... And DMC4 wasn't hard, it was annoying at the end, if anything. The DMC4 demo was a lot easier, A LOT. As I said, you gotta dodge a lot in Bayonetta - something I rarely did in DMC. And if you dodge just in the nick of time everything slows down except for you - things get a lot easier then as you can imagine.

I played DMC3 a long time ago... don't really remember if it was hard or not (just that it was fun). But the short two levels here are EXTREMELY fun for me. It's very rare that a demo pumps me up so much for the full game (actually I think it's a first...).

Why don't you have Internet on your Xbox? I would say it's worth it to move your console for a moment to go Live and download the demo - the game is totally awesome :) Man, I am so hyped :D
